Jeff Potter, President
Jeff is the principal of J&G and leads the team in all aspects of design and build projects. His approach to landscaping is to understand the client needs then create solutions that maximize the outdoor living space from a functional as well as aesthetic view. With 20 years of experience in landscaping and construction, Jeff ensures that each landscape project is both a quality design and installation. As the “face” of J&G, clients not only meet with Jeff at the onset of their projects but also see him on-site as their job progresses.
Jeff holds an advanced degree in Landscape Design/Woody Plants, from George Washington University. His undergraduate degree is in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. Jeff is certified in Maryland Home Improvement and is on the Board of Directors for the Landscape Contractors Association of MD/DC/VA.

This includes updating staff internally, utility notification, ordering plants and materials, setting up crews, assisting with billing and more. Greg also oversees the lawn maintenance division. As many of our clients know, Greg is often the point person regarding the status and updates for a job.
Prior to working full time at J&G, Greg attended Salisbury University and earned a degree in Business. While at Salisbury, Greg was a member of the Sea Gulls men’s basketball team and a founder father of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. In 2007 Greg and his wife Julie had a baby boy, Aiden. Matt Purdy, Landscape Designer
Like both Jeff and Greg Potter, Matt’s love of the outdoors began in childhood. He got his start in the industry while cutting grass in middle school. Shortly thereafter, Matt met a landscape architect that sparked his interest in pursuing landscape design as a career.
In 2000, Matt joined J&G. Today he is our lead designer. Matt’s role is to understand client’s needs and/or problems, conduct site analysis, conceptualize and produce designs, and estimate jobs both large and small. What Matt says he finds most rewarding about landscape design is creating usable spaces for people to enjoy the outdoors.
Matt has a Bachelors in Landscape Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic & State University. Matt’s hobbies include outdoor activities including mountain biking, hiking, camping and photography of plants. Matt was married in late 2006 and is busy with his wife Erin renovating their new home.
John Waslick, Special Projects Manager
John has been a key team member of J&G for more than 10 years. His role today is like that of a consultant where his expert knowledge of construction process is used on a project-to-project basis.
